COMBAT SPORTS FOR A SOCIAL CAUSE

While Cubs Combat School & NEW ERA MMA are dedicated to making combat sports accessible to the masses, we also strive to empower marginalized groups such as the elderly and physically disabled by bringing combat sports classes to their facilities. We understand the rising need to bridge the societal gap between the elderly/physically disabled and the general population. Hence, we are the pioneering combat sports organization to involve the provision of combat sport activities to these marginalized groups, advocating for mental health and an inclusive society.

At the same time, with Cubs Combat School helming the projects, we hope to inspire more young people to participate in  community projects to serve the underprivileged with whatever we have.

A study conducted in 2021 by a team of researchers from NUS revealed that 6% of the 16,943 seniors survey participants experienced social disconnection and isolation despite living with their family.

Furthermore, Dementia in Singapore affects 5.2% of Singaporeans aged 60 and above. Almost 3 in 4 Dementia patients experience rejection and isolation while more than half were treated by others as less competent.

These statistics emphasizes that we have an important part to play in showing empathy towards the aged and adaptive communities, and that it is in our power to build an inclusive community, while advocating for mental health and empowerment, in order to build a resilient and caring society.
